Scarlet Metal

Narrated by Iron-

To this day I swear on the highest heavens. I'm going to make Silver work for the scarlet metal sword I made for him. Granted he was in a real tough fight and it couldn't have gone any other way. But he is going to pay me back destroying my hard work. The reason I'm all shook up about it is I guess it was a lot of work.

The metal is common enough to make, but its extremely hard to forge. The effect of scarlet metal is that it causes explosions. Even the softest tap against its edge will cause a bang. It the most extreme case I've heard of. Silver shattered the sword against his foe. Causing an explosion on Earths surface that could be seen from space.

So the only way to make the blade have sharpness. Is to rub it down while its red hot. There are tools that exist to have a good result. I just had to make damn sure I didn't tap it.

There is a high demand for these weapons, but no one will make them. Even for 100,000 coffins which is enough to but a nice space craft. Most black smiths wont go near the stuff. The pay is not worth the risk of blowing yourself up. I personally would have been very upset if my fingers hadn't grown back.

An eelkshie whose name will not be said came to me. She asked me to make a fine scarlet metal sword. It was a gift for her goddess. She offered 150,000 coffins for this masterpiece. As well as letting me date her. She was mugged for it and the 2 of us had an adventure getting it back. She told me when it was all over. I could ask anything of her and she would grant it. Her goddess was overwhelmed when she got it. I was awarded an honor by the goddess for my fine work.

Scarlet metal is made from various materials. The key things are Explosion dust which isn't gun powder. The other thing is freshly made steel. The newer the better. Many other elements are used to create different attributes. Bigger explosions, thicker fire, more durable. But it is always needing the first 2 materials.

Alloys

Skeletain

.-Narrated by Junk-

This material in layman's terms is metal bone alloy. Very rare, very hard to make, but has a great ability to amplify. There are certain alloys that can be made stronger if forged with Skeletain. All that needs to happen is an ingot of skeletain and another metal ingot. Are thrown together in the forge. The combination can greaten the effects anywhere from 10 fold to 50 fold. Only one weapon that reached 50 fold has ever been forged. A privet mercenary named Ivory crafted that item. The weapon possessed its user and made her mad with power.

It is one of the more Infinity based alloys. Due to the fact that if the wielder is not of equal strength. They often go insane from the cursed power it brings.

The process of forging it successfully. Is to take the bones of a being of immortal power. A being mind you that is freshly dead. The longer the being is dead. The less power it will have. Also Eternity based life cancels out the effects.

The bones are thrown into a specially made urn. Then melted down with a spell as the heat. Once it is made into ore the power level is permanent.

One of the best examples of this material's made items. Is a bow called Screech. Forged together with solid sound. A shot from this bow could shatter everything in large capital. The bow was claimed by the rumor Shift. Locked away in a hidden location believed to be lost. Only he knew its location, but if someone found it. They would most likely be possessed and go on a rampage.

Ocean Iron

Narrated by Iron-

To call it iron isn't necessarily correct. The proper name is water metal, but the nickname stuck. Because the alloy is as heavy and dense as iron. Even though it started out as water.

Ocean iron requires a type of magic engineering that you must be born with. It can not be learned. The most famous of crafter's are those who represent Lochs. Its sort of like a separate nature to them to make. But they usually over price their wares.

The way the alloy is forged is a craftsman. Is they stick their hand into pure water and fuse their magic in the water. Once the process is complete. The craftsman pulls out a chunk of raw ocean iron. Which he/she forges into the good alloy then creates an object. Ocean iron can not used by a 3rd party smith. Otherwise its is liable to break because it becomes impure. Because of the soul connection.

The metal is translucent and light blue. Looking very similar to glass. The way to tell it apart from glass is the appearance of ripples. Like when you are in a pool and you see the sun on the floor.

Ocean iron is also surprisingly heavy. Those who don't have strong arms should find other kinds of gear. A short sword of it. Weighs as much as a steel great sword.

The other interesting thing about it. Is that it heals itself. If a crack or chip occurs. Give it an hour and it will look good as new.
