Elise -Treon Maiden-

Narrated by Elise

We are leaders of the lost, who devote themselves to the ways of spring. We don't like to be seen by almost anyone. Unless we are being aggressive for a reason to cause anger. I wander my forest looking for children who are in distress. Not just human or human like children. I will aid child animals caught in traps or injured in hunts. For this reason I am considered a taboo and other Treon Maidens avoid me.

The word Treon is an ancient word for tree in the culture of the planet Earth. The tree is the universal symbol of a forest because it is a guardian and there are many. I'm guessing that is how my race became associated with the title.

Speaking for my people, we are powerful forces of nature and we know many forms of magic. All plant or nature related magic of course. My favorite method is to teleport from tree to tree. Also I command the creatures like a society and not an army. The magic of that nature is to be able to communicate with any animal or being of Lost.

Our physical looks are dark flesh with plants growing here and there. I have plants growing on my head. Also I have grass growing in an unmentionable place, no details needed. Our tattoos that illuminate when we use magic are not ink. They are images of our souls. I have nightshade flowers and wings myself. The significance of our marks is that of our personality. Words could not describe us better.

The Skelters are the main enemy of the Treon Maidens. They are basically us but on the opposite side of the coin. For they are the beings who govern Fall. I have killed a few of them who tried to bring Fall into my area of the world. They fear me, and they don't fear anything.

Vira

Narrated by herself

When I could remember my own name and when I had a forest to call home, I was alone. I thought for decades how could I make friends, how could I not be in solitude. But over those decades I made friends with the hummingbirds I cared for. My markings even reflected hummingbird images. Then I made a wish, I wanted to be more like the birds I loved. The next morning I woke up with hummingbird wings and I could use them.

Flying was like an addiction, more to the notion that beings of Lost, who had wings grew to fly with me. After that I had found my social life. I flew with fairies most of the time.

Now when Snags became a part of my life, I instinctively knew what I had to do. I had to protect my forest and all of those who depended on me, so I did. I hunted the vermin and their beasts. I even started to enjoy the hunt, and then I found him. An elven man named Kirk, he was to sacrificed with others to kill my forest. He and I fell in love and we even had a child, whom I dearly miss.

A credit to my character, is the king of the gods personally came to my home. While I was still pregnant with my daughter. He placed his hand on my belly and bestowed a sacred blessing to make my daughter have great strength. It is rare for a god to do this, let alone the king, so I felt very honored.

My husband and I continue to live life in our home, and are destined to face whatever comes our way.

Estelle

Narrated by Vira

My daughter is as fresh to the group as they come. I gave birth to her only a decade and a half ago, but she is not a green horn. My little Estelle has inherited one of my foes and has taken her on like a champ. Also she seems to really like spiders and tarantulas. When her writings came about on her body, she had webs and lilies as her symbols of personality.

It is a hard thing to live with when you have offspring as a Treon maiden. You have to get your daughter to a barren wasteland as soon as possible. Otherwise the two forests born from the maidens will clash and often both die. But I trusted my girl with my friend Silo and she took care of her like her own daughter.

As Estelle went from the cute little girl to a teenager. Her personality changed from being withdrawn to very outgoing. I here from Silo that she goes out to villages and homes of those who live in her forest to play. Most are frightened at the beginning to play because it's like a queen and a commoner. Estelle was blessed and cursed with the innocence that she can't understand about rank.

I worry too, about how she is just so young and can get in so much trouble. Still it can't really be helped, I know Silo will take care of here.

Dryad

Narrated by Garden

This race is rather terrifying and aggravating. They are one of the highest ranked races of plants. They are lethal in battle and much more arrogant than any race I know. To compare their status, they are like the brother to the king without heirs.

Their one weakness is if you kill their tree they will die. Which is why when they are born from the trunk of the oak tree. The baby is taken across a galaxy and it's location is never spoken of. The method of the tree giving birth is a Dryad places a special seed inside. 5 Earth months later Dryads gather to welcome the new baby. I have witnessed this ritual, I know of no ceremony more spectacular. To honor a child coming into the world. The tree is given immortality of age to one day be bigger than a red wood. The only way to kill it is to chop it down.

Now back to the arrogance thing. Since they are unkillable and vastly powerful. One of them might walk up to a king and knee him in the gut. At the end of the day they could be thinking what other king could I assault for something to do.

Their powers are vast in possibilities but have 2 deliveries. Their breath or off a piece of oak touching their body.

As for ways to slow them down one might think fire. But depending on fire to be your ace in the hole. It is like shooting a bebe gun at a giant oak tree. Darkness is the one thing you can do to slow them down. But they still can't be killed.

Now they keep to themselves though. Finding a oak tree here and there. There was one poor guy who picked a fight with a princess. I saw his death and it was horrific. She blew her breath on him and in moments a tree grew from inside his body. Ripping flesh and bone apart as it grew. They told me his soul was in the tree. Which was like forever being nailed to the same wall.
