How these women came into being is a mystery forgotten by time. The fact that they are known to lure men into the woods to meet death. Is just at the top of the tree of what they can do, so to speak. hauldra are guardians of the woods and talented with shaman magic. The men they lure to their deaths, are evil or have been deemed evil.

Hauldra are lethal at at a very young age. They are born from their mother's. Usually impregnated by men who are victims. On rare happenings the ladies fall in love with a man in the woods. But it is an impossible long term relationship, and ends in tears.

The life span of one of them is determined by how healthy the forest is. If the forest dies they will die. It also goes without saying if they stray to far away from the woods they will die. This fact is because they are linked to the forest like an immune system to a body.

Hauldra are not territorial, but can be aggressive if threatened. Some think of them as beautiful ladies who spend their days wandering the woods. This is a stereotype and is in no way accurate. These ladies heal hurt trees when they have nothing else to do. But most of the time they are fighting monsters of Fall or men from lumber yards.

Yes they are indeed mysterious creatures, but if you are a man looking for a good time. You would be better off fooling around with a soldiers wife. Because you would live longer...
